Please Note: If your child has asthma, diabetes, seizures, food allergies, or other medical conditions
requiring treatment at school, please contact the school nurse prior to the school year to establish an
individual health plan. Students must carry their own EpiPen and/or rescue inhalers in order to go on
school field trips.

Medication Policy:  In collaboration with our health services team and administration, our medication
administration policy was updated across the school district 9/27/24. This policy allows a
parent/guardian to choose which over the counter medications their students can receive from the
school clinics, or no medications depending on their preference. Without this consent, the school nurse
is not able to administer any OTC medications including cough drops, contact solution, wound cleanser,
etc. The new OTC medication consent form is now part of the yearly online registration for the current
and upcoming school years. If you wish for your child to have access to any other OTC medications not
included on the new form, we require a physician's order and parent signature in order to administer.
Parent/guardian must bring the OTC medication to the nurse and must not send it to school with thier
student. Please contact the school nurse if this applies to your student as there is a separate required
form.

Infection Control Guidelines

Dear Families, Students, and Staff,

The CDC recently released updated infection control guidelines with a change to combine COVID-19 into the general classification of respiratory viruses including influenza, RSV, and others. There are no longer any specific COVID-19 infection control guidelines.

We are adjusting our return to school, athletics, and other extracurricular activities guidelines in line with CDC recommendations. Students and staff must be fever free for 24 hrs., without Tylenol or Ibuprofen, and show symptom improvement for 24 hrs. before returning to school, athletics, and other extracurricular activities. The CDC visuals below are helpful to manage return for students and staff.

We will not require masks upon returning for positive COVID or other sick kids, but as always students and staff with chronic disease or other risks can always wear a mask and parents who mask their kids on illness return for several days will have the satisfaction of helping reduce potential spread to others.

Thanks,
